Abies concolor 'Violaceae' is the Bluest of the firs with silver-Blue needles which, at a distance, can be mistaken for a Blue spruce. It does not differ from the species in size, reaching, in ten years 8 - 16 x 5 - 7 feet (2.5 -5 x 1.5 - 2 m). A very old cultivar, very often found in collections. Similar seedlings occur and have received different names.
