Abies concolor 'Mora' / Mora white fir

Abies concolor 'Mora' #3 is a miniature, globose selection of white fir with symmetrical, raditating branching and shorter-than-typical, fleshy blue needles. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 12 inches (30 cm) tall and wide, an annual growth rate of 1 inch (2.5 cm).

This cultivar originated as a witch's broom found in the early 2000s by Jerry Morris of Lakewood, Colorado. In his field notes, Jerry describes this broom as, "a blue concolor fir broom, tight, looks good, about half mile on left, when you start up Athe Mountain, out of the valley of Pasta Mora, 5’

tall x 8’

wide. He provisionally named the plant Abies concolor [ #3 ], suggesting that this was the third of Jerry Morris' many white fir selections.
