Abies balsamea 'Columnaris' is a strong growing columnar Balsam fir with short branches directed upward at the tips. Its needles are densely arranged, only .2 inches (5 mm) long.

Originated before 1903 in G. Frahm Nursery, Elmshorn, W. Germany.
