Abies balsamea Armintrout's Fastigiate - Invalid Horticultural Status

Abies balsamea 'Armintrout's Fastigiate' is a fast-growing, narrowly upright selection of balsam fir with close, fastigiate branching and fairly soft, blue-green needles. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 10 feet (3 m) or more tall and 1-third as wide, an annual growth rate of 12 inches (30 cm) or more.

This cultivar originated as a seedling selected in the early 2000s at Armintrout's West Michigan Farms of Allegan, MI. It is one of the very few cultivars of this species with a narrow, upright, fastigiate form.
