Abies alba ‘Microphylla’

Abies alba 'Microphylla' is a dwarf form of silver fir with short, clustered, thin twigs, winter buds small, red and resinous; needles very thin, narrow, obtuse at the apex .3 x .6 inches (8 - 15 mm) long. In ten years it can be expected to grow to 5 x 3.25 feet (1.5 x 1 m).

Has been in cultivation in France before 1867. (RHS Encyclopedia of Conifers, 2012)
