Abies alba 'Compacta' / Compact silver fir

aka Abies alba 'Nana Compacta'

Abies alba 'Compacta' has dense foliage in tiered, horizontal branches with blunt, glossy dark green needles with silver underneath. This spherical growing plant is a semi-dwarf and likes cooler climates with good sun exposure, and acidic soil. Annual growth 2 - 4 inches (5 - 10 cm).

Originated by Parsons & Sons, in Flushing, NY, USA about 1885.
