Conifer Trees Database

Welcome to the American Conifer Society Database

Established in 1983, our mission is centered on advocating for the integration of conifer trees in garden designs and landscapes. We are dedicated to educating enthusiasts and the general public about the proper care, cultivation, and conservation of these majestic and diverse evergreens.

Abies koreana ‘Blue Emperor’

Abies koreana 'Blue Emperor' is an evergreen conifer of great beauty. It forms a compact pyramid with attractive steel-blue needles. Abundant purple cones are held upright along the branches, creating a lovely contrast against the foliage. A slow grower, 'Blue Emperor' is a great choice for small gardens, containers, or rockeries.

The cultivar is more tolerant of heat and humidity than most firs, but peforms best in cooler climates. 'Blue Emperor' is easy to grow, easy to care for, rarely browsed by deer, and virtually disease free.
