APA Garden Tour: The Art of Pruning

Berkeley - Berkeley, CA

The Aesthetic Pruning Association, with whom the ACS enjoys a wonderful, symbiotic relationship, hopes that ACS members will join them for the third annual APA garden tour, which will feature gardens of the East Bay. The tour gardens  are beautifully and expertly pruned by APA certified aesthetic pruners Leslie Buck, Yuki Nara, and Dan Villaume. Each of the four gardens makes unique use of its natural setting in the East Bay hills.  This is a great opportunity to ask certified aesthetic pruners about their techniques and process. There are many conifers in these gardens and you can learn a lot about how to prune and care for you own plants from this tour.

There will be book signings throughout the day by Leslie Buck, author of ‘Cutting Back’, in the Mitchell garden and pruning demos by Randall Lee, APA President, in the Bookin garden.  There will also be informal presentations giving overviews of the gardens, design elements and horticultural considerations for pruning.

Tour Hours: 10:00am to 4:00pm. Please visit the gardens during tour hours only. Rain or Shine.

Tickets go on sale September 10, 2017

$35.00 if purchased before the tour. $40 the day of the tour.
