It’s blooming time for Hellebore’s! Not conifer, but a really nice companion for conifers no??
Here are a couple popping around my house……….anyone else? :)

I use Canon 60D 🙂

Haven’t been out to my house, and sure they are looking ratty and un-photo worthy, but here is one from a design I did in the City.

guessing you’re a city designer? pots and such? that’s great! someday I’d like to be a pruning/shaping guy that people would pay to come prune and shape things…….but I need more practice first….. thanx for sharing the Helle’s

I work in design/install/maintenance (and live) here in Manhattan – namely small projects as we are a small firm. I also have a small garden and home out on Long Island as well. As I very much enjoy pruning, a post asking folks about their favorite pruners, pruning saws, etc could be fun (hint, hint – haha) – wrote about it in our newsletter I believe some years ago, may spark some interesting debate – I need to get the “experts” to stop always suggesting Felco’s – yuck – haha.

Here are some of mine – some undetermined H.orientalis. I do love them and have a ton of argutifolia and foetida as well. They are great for dry shade here, and of course, winter interest.
