Welcome to My Garden series (5 Replies)

Posted December 17, 2013 at 9:04 am

We’ve started a new series that previews conifer gardens that are going to be visited during forthcoming ACS meetings. Check out The Vista Garden which will be part of the activities during June’s National Meeting. Jody Karlin has sculpted a woodland garden out of a hilly slope that offers unique viewpoints of his plantings from paths that he’s carved into the terrain. Can’t wait to see it … and how he’s done it.

We’re looking forward to seeing you all down here in June. As to how I did it, well, at times it was trying:

This is what happens when a damn Yankee from New York City, moves to the South on acreage, marries one of their ‘wimmin’ and starts to use equipment not usually found on the streets of Queens.

“Jody Karlin has sculpted a woodland garden out of a hilly slope that offers unique viewpoints…”

That’s certainly a different point of view, Jody…or maybe I should ask, “How was the view at that point?” 😉

We call that guerrilla gardening! That’s how my husband gardens! I have to keep reminding him about collateral damage…
