Looking For Boron (3 Replies)

Group,

Can anyone tell me where I can find a good fertilizer that contains boron? I ordered a bottle of “micronutrients” from Amazon Dot Com and the image and description shown online indicated that it contained boron among other trace nutrients. Much to my disappointment, when my package arrived I discovered that Amazon had actually subbed another product of micronutrients and reading the label I discovered to my dismay that there was NO boron in the contents. ūüôĀ

We have soil on our property that is badly boron deficient from years of intensive farming and trees (especially conifers) need boron in trace amounts. I think they cannot absorb iron without it or something.

After my seedlings reach a certain size, their deep roots are finally able to reach leached boron. But until then, they need this supplement. Can anybody help me find some? I turned up a bunch of dead ends “Googling” it.

Regards,
Fred M. Cain

Would this do it? There is also a company called Wolftrax that makes all kinds of specialty fertilizers but I think you’d have to call them to find out if you could buy directly. Out here everyone avoids boron because grapes don’t like it!

In the days following our Conifer Road Trip last month, my wife and I drove through the town of Boron, California. We visited the boron mine and museum. Really interesting stuff. Outside the museum was a very large mound of boron tailings. I thought it was really cool.
