Holding Conifer of the Year in pots? (4 Replies)

Posted February 24, 2018 at 1:37 pm

I am new member. We are building a new house and won’t be able to landscape until spring of 2019. We want to plant a small conifer garden. If I bought the Conifer of the Year plants now could they be safely grown in pots until I can plant the garden?

Yes that would be ok. Where are you located? Maybe we can find you a local advisor!

Welcome to the ACS, Ross! There are many coneheads in Oregon. One of the best private gardens is in Roseburg and the owners love to have ACS members visit. The Oregon Garden in Silverton has a fantastic collection and we have a volunteer there who has overseen most of the plantings. If you’d like contact information, please send me an email at webeditor@conifersociety.org.
