greetings from NC (9 Replies)

Posted December 30, 2014 at 12:50 pm

hello, just signed up today for the forum, been a subscriber to CQ for several years, and have always enjoyed the small mag’s that come in the mail. I have not been in the garden that long: about 6 years now, but really love jap maples, conifers, ferns, flowers etc :)
I currently have over 150 varieties of maples, 90 of which are in the ground, and in various pots and Bonsai attempts :)
Lots of different Pines, Chamaecyparis, viburnums…..sheesh too many to list….
I look forward to reading and learning/sharing about more!
Thanx for reading

Welcome – you are among friends! We look forward to sharing conifer tales with you. Maybe a photo of your garden or one of your favorite specimens?

Personally I like weeping conifers and this one caught my eye at the Cox Arboretum in the summer of 2014, Picea abies ‘Pruhoniceana’

@deadbeat – as one of the few who discovered and use the forums do you have any suggestions on how we can drive folks here versus say all the plant groups/pages on Facebook that seem to vie for “our” attentions?

I have no clue: social media isn’t my specialty 🙂 actually, I don’t have a specialty LOL…….I’m just a stay home Dad with two girls and an unknown on the way 🙂 I spend as much time outside as I can when I’m not guiding these young ones 🙂
thanx for posting Colby: one thing I do know how to do is JUST KEEP POSTING! if there are folks here making threads, sharing pictures and such, the word should get out you know?
