Photos from the 2014 National Meeting in Atlanta

A stunning specimen of Cryptomeria japonica 'Knaptonensis' at the Karlin Garden TP

The 2014 National Meeting was an unqualified success and we enjoyed good weather, camaraderie and fabulous gardens. Bill McNamara of Quarryhill Botanical Gardens was our keynote speaker and he transported us to far off lands with a photo tour of his many botanical collecting trips to Asia.

Look for a full write up of the meeting in the next Conifer Quarterly. In the meantime, we will be posting photos here taken by various ACS members. If you were there and you have photos to share, send them to us at webeditor@conifersociety.org!

This will be one of the more memorable conferences of my conifering career. I was amazed to see the “conifers don’t grow in the southeast” myth completely shattered. Beyond that it was both a total hoot and honor to socialize with some of the big names in the field. Bill McNamara correctly noted what we’ve known for a long time, that Coneheads really know how to have fun.
